D/O Prasad Rao Kanabadutaledu is a new-age crime thriller that is all set to stream from February 27, 2026, on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. The web series features Rajeev Kanakala, Vasanthika, Gayathri Bhardwaj, and Uday Bhanu in key roles. The series has been directed by Krishna Poluru.

Ahead of the show’s streaming, Rajeev Kanakala opened up about his role in the series. The noted actor says that he plays a desperate father who is searching for his missing daughter.

“I have played father roles quite a lot in the last few months, but trust me, D/O Prasad Rao is going to be a milestone character in my career. Though it looks like an emotional story about a father searching for his daughter, there are a lot of twists that have been kept hidden by the director,” he said.

Rajiv Kanakala has mostly been seen playing father roles and was last seen in Mouli’s Little Hearts, now streaming on OTTplay Premium. While he played a fun character in that show, in D/O Prasad Rao Kanabadutaledu, he portrays a serious and helpless father who tracks down his daughter in his own way after the police fail to take proper action.

Rajiv adds that the series has been designed in such a way that every episode contains twists, and the suspense will keep viewers hooked until the end. There is also news that the show may have a second season.

Udaya Bhanu plays a cop in D/O Prasad Rao

Uday Bhanu plays a key role and will be seen as a cop in the series. Speaking about the show, the noted anchor said it has been quite some time since she played a police officer, and the role gave her ample scope to showcase her acting skills. Gayathri Bhardwaj plays the hostel warden from where the girl goes missing.

ZEE5 has acquired the digital rights for a fancy price and plans to promote the series aggressively. It remains to be seen how the show performs upon its release.
