Rajinikanth greets massive crowd at Pondicherry during his visit to the town to film Lal Salaam

Fans of Rajinikanth were in for a huge surprise when it was announced that the Superstar will be seen in a cameo in Lal Salaam which has his daughter Aishwarya at the helm. Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth play lead roles in the movie which revolves around cricket.

The Jailer star plays Moideen Bhai, a crucial character in the film and his appearance in the movie was officially revealed recently by makers. Lyca Productions is bankrolling the project which has music being composed by AR Rahman.

The movie was in the news recently when Rajinikanth met Kapil Dev during its shooting in Mumbai. The legendary cricketer is expected to play a small role in it. The two veterans expressed admiration towards each other from their respective social media pages. The film, which marks Aishwarya's return to direction, is expected to hit screens next year.

The Superstar was in Puducherry the other day as part of shooting. Knowing that he was in the town, a huge crowd gathered to meet the star. The videos of his fans going crazy after meeting him are now doing the rounds on social media.

Rajini is seen travelling in a car and is spotted waving hands at them, sending his admirers into a tizzy. His hardcore fans were heard shouting 'Thalaiva' as they couldn't control their excitement. A couple of days ago, the team of Jailer, his forthcoming project, wrapped up its shooting.

The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial is releasing on August 10. Fans have pinned high hopes on the movie bankrolled by Sun Pictures. The star plays Muthuvel Pandian in the film which is billed as an action drama.
