It looks like all speculations pertaining to Jailer are going to end soon as the Rajinikanth-starrer is set to go on floors. The update has now come from the horse's mouth. The Superstar met the press at his residence and spoke for a few minutes about his interaction with Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi.

He informed that the two of them had a fruitful interaction and that the Governor was impressed with people of Tamil Nadu, their hard working nature and spirituality in the state. He also revealed that the duo spoke about political affairs. However, when asked if he would reconsider his decision about foraying into politics, Rajini said no.

Further, he said that he will join Jailer on either August 15 or August 22. The action drama to be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar is likely to begin in Hyderabad. It is expected that an announcement on the movie's cast and crew will be made soon.

Anirudh has been roped in to compose music for the project which has Sun Pictures bankrolling it. Jailer is the third movie which marks Anirudh's collaboration with Rajinikanth after Petta and Darbar.

The names of Aishwarya Rai, Ramya Krishnan and Priyanka Mohan have been doing the rounds with regard to playing key roles in the film. Sivakarthikeyan is expected to pen lyrics for a song in the project. Sandalwood superstar Shivaraj Kumar had recently revealed about essaying a crucial role in the movie.

Fans of Rajinikanth are keeping their fingers crossed; the star's last film Annaatthe did not live up to expectations. On the other hand, Nelson's Beast, too, couldn't match the hype it carried. Jailer is said to be releasing in summer 2023 if everything goes well.
