Even as Rajini fans are awaiting the first look, teaser and trailer of Siva's Annaatthe, which will hit the screens on November 4, speculation is already doing the rounds on the filmmaker who will wield the megaphone for the Superstar's next film. Desingh Periyasamy, a self-confessed fan of Thalaivar, had mentioned a few times earlier that directing the star is his biggest dream. The star even appreciated him after he watched the young director's debut movie Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, which had Dulquer in the lead. The conversation between Rajinikanth and Desingh was leaked and had went viral in no time on social media.
The audio clip had the Superstar asking Desingh to come up with a story for him, to which the latter was heard responding shockingly. Sources say that the director has narrated a script to him and that he is yet to make a decision on it. Karthik Subbaraj, who made Petta with the star, is also said to have narrated a story to him. Interestingly, P Vasu, who last directed Rajini in Chandramukhi, is also said to be one of the filmmakers who have readied a story for the star. Siva, who directed Ajith in back-to-back four projects, we hear, is also in the list of those who have plans to make a film with the star.
However, it is said that Rajinikanth is yet to make a decision on who should direct him for his 169th project. Meanwhile, Dhanush, who made his directorial debut with Power Paandi and has also produced the star's Kaala under his Wunderbar Films, is also pursuing a similar plan, but we hear, it will be for the latter's 170th movie. The Karnan star had started his second directorial project a while ago, but the film has been put on hold for a few reasons.
