As soon as his recent film Srikanth was released in theatres, Rajkummar Rao got busy promoting his upcoming film, Mr. and Mrs. Mahi with Janhvi Kapoor. The film, which is a romantic sports film is all set to release on May 31, 2024. While the actor is still busy with these two films, there are reports that the actor is now all set to don a producer's cap for his upcoming project. Read on for all the details!
According to the reports by PeepingMoon, Rajkummar Rao is turning a producer with a Netflix original film titled Toaster. The film will see him as a producer as well as the lead actor. The female lead for the project is none other than the Heeramandi actress Sonakshi Sinha. The film is said to be a criminal comedy and will begin production in the latter part of this year. The film will also star Archana Puran Singh in a significant part. As of this moment, no other details are revealed, including the director.
For the uninitiated, this is not the first time that Rajkummar has collaborated with Netflix. He has been associated with the giant streaming platform for projects including Ludo, Monica, O My Darling!, The White Tiger, and Guns & Gulaabs. Toaster will be the fifth film he will be collaborating with Netflix.
On the work front, after impressing the audience with his outstanding performance in the film Srikanth, the actor is gearing up for Mr. and Mrs. Mahi. The film, also starring Janhvi Kapoor is a romantic comedy directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Zee Studios. Janhvi and Rajkummar have been completely engrossed in the promotional campaign for the film. They recently sought blessings in Varanasi as they performed Ganga Aarti at the Dashashwamedh Ghat. The film is scheduled to hit the theaters on May 31, 2024.
