He may not be that conventionally good looking like the Khans, Kapoors and Kumars of Bollywood. But his very presence on the silver screen simply not just lights up the atmosphere, but also the faces of the audiences! That’s the mesmerizing power of Rajkummar Rao, the very man whose middle name is surely ‘seamless versatility’.
These days, everyone is eagerly waiting for Rajkummar Rao’s film Srikant. For the unversed, Srikant is a film that’s based (read ‘inspired’) by the extremely inspiring life of Srikanth Bolla, who achieved an impossible feat, which many cannot dare to dream with their eyes open (no pun intended here!).
Today, the first ever track of the film got dropped on social media. The track was none other than ‘Papa Kehte Hain Bada Naam Karegaa’. The song has been sung by Udit Narayan. It's not rocket science to say that the song had got featured in the superhit film ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, which starred Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla.
As for Srikant, there cannot be another track which could have suited the purpose of the film and its ‘eye-opening’ plot. The track’s video (which was released on social media) today, features the extremely inspiring (and also moving) story of the real-life achiever Srikanth Bolla, as portrayed (to near perfection) by Rajkummar Rao.
No sooner did the film’s makers drop the track ‘Papa Kehte Hain’, the comments section got filled with comments and compliments in absolutely no time by the netizens. While one user wrote, ‘Raj Kumar Rao ki har movie blockbuster jaayegi’, there was another who wrote, ‘this song lives rent free in my head 24x7......love itt’. Another netizen wrote, ‘Recreation version !!!!! Goosebumps @udit Narayan 90s best song thanks t-series !!!!!!’.
As for the film Srikant, besides Rajkummar Rao, the film stars Jyotika, Alaya F, Sharad Kelkar, and Jameel Khan in important roles. The film has been directed by Tushar Hiranandani. The film has been scheduled to be released in theatres on May 10 all across the country.
