Rakasa Teaser: Comedy clicks, thrills impress in the Sangeet Sobhan, Nayan Sarika horror comedy

Manasa Sharma is known for her work in the superhit web series Bench Life, which is now streaming on OTTplay Premium. She is now all set to make her theatrical debut as a director with a film titled Rakasa. The project is being backed by Niharika Konidela, who earlier produced the award-winning film Committee Kurrollu.

Manasa has teamed up with young talent Sangeeth Shobhan for this horror-comedy, which has been made on a decent budget. The makers kept the film under wraps for a long time and have finally released the teaser, which looks promising. Be it the backdrop or the fun elements, Rakasa appears impressive at first glance.

The teaser begins with a man landing in America and getting stuck in a mysterious haunted house. The premise looks intriguing, and the thrills showcased, along with Sangeeth Shobhan’s entry into the setup, are well executed. 

The jump scares are effective, and Sangeeth, as the main lead, delivers solid comic moments. Comedy comes naturally to him, and he fits perfectly into the horror-comedy space.

Getup Srinu is also seen in a key role, and the comedic exchanges between him and Sangeeth generate plenty of laughs. Apart from the humor, the stunning production design stands out. The artwork, sets, and gritty visuals create an immediate impact and enhance the eerie atmosphere.

Beyond the comedy, the film seems to have engaging drama and intriguing secrets that add depth to the narrative. Manasa Sharma appears to have made a conscious effort to differentiate Rakasa from other recent horror comedies. 

When is Niharika Konidela's Rakasa releasing?

In recent times, films like The Raja Saab have faltered due to weak narratives, but the teaser of Rakasa suggests a stronger storyline and not just comedy created just for the sake of it. The makers have also revealed that the film will be out on April 3, 2026.

The music is composed by Anudeep Dev, and his background score adds to the tension. Nayan Sarika, who was recently seen in Vishnu Vinyasam, has a brief presence in the teaser, but it leaves an impression.
