Ram Pothineni on Andhra King Taluka dull occupancy: November 2025 release was not ideal

Andhra King Taluka is Ram Pothineni's new film that had a decent start at the box office but slowed down once the weekdays began. The film has made only Rs 18 crore, according to the tracking portal Sacnilk.

To connect better with the audience, the makers arranged a press interaction, where Ram Pothineni openly admitted that releasing a film in a non-season month like November was a mistake. 

"One of my biggest films, Masala, with Venkatesh, was released in November and did not even collect basic numbers. So, I was sceptical when the makers locked a November 2025 release date. Though the film has been appreciated by many, it did not go deep. Hopefully, things will change now as the holiday season has begun. I never push my films when the audience rejects them, but with Andhra King Taluka, I want more people to watch it as it is close to my heart and a very emotional story of a fan," said Ram.

The film was in the news ahead of its release due to the rumored relationship between Ram Pothineni and the female lead, Bhagyashri Borse. Their off-screen closeness fueled gossip and gave the film decent hype, but the collections tell a different story.

Netflix has acquired the digital rights to the film, and it looks like Andhra King Taluka will have an early OTT release. Kannada superstar Upendra also plays a key role in this film, which is directed by Mahesh Babu P. 

Andhra King Taluka revolves around an ardent fan, played by Ram, who goes all out to produce his favorite star's 100th film, which gets stalled midway.

Bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, who also produced Pushpa, the film was made on a huge budget, and it appears the makers may incur some losses. 

Andhra King Taluka takes a dull start

Despite receiving good reviews, occupancy for Andhra King Taluka is low because proper promotions were not planned post-release, limiting the film’s reach, say many in the industry.

With Ram now back in India and the weekend setting in, let’s see how much Andhra King Taluka will collect in the days to come.
