Ram Pothineni is one of the popular actors in Telugu cinema, known for his energetic performances and strong fan following. However, sadly, his last few films have ended as flops at the box office.
Ram pinned a lot of hopes on his new film Andhra King Taluka, directed by Mahesh Babu P, who last made Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty with Anushka Shetty and Naveen Polishetty. Naturally, expectations were sky-high for the film, but unfortunately, it ended up as a disaster at the box office.

Since then, Ram Pothineni has been inactive and has not announced any new film. Some time back, we at OTTplay had already revealed that Ram had signed a film with the makers of Baahubali. Initially, things looked promising, and a debut director was supposed to helm the project. However, the latest update is that the project has now been shelved.
A source close to the actor revealed that Ram was unhappy with the budget allocated by the makers. The source further added that the producers planned to make the film on a very tight budget, which did not go down well with Ram.

Apart from this, he also had issues with the second half of the script and wanted more discussions with the makers. As the talks did not bring any clarity, Ram has decided to back out of the project.
The source also added that the makers are still trying to rope Ram back into the project and want him to headline the action drama, which was planned on a very interesting note with mostly new age actors in key roles.

Ram Pothineni is a bankable star who has delivered several big hits in the past. However, with his recent films failing at the box office, many producers are hesitant to invest big money, and the same situation reportedly occurred with the Baahubali makers.
