Haneef Adeni's Ramachandra Boss & Co, starring Nivin Pauly in the lead role, is an out-and-out comedy film that will be released in theatres this Onam, alongside two actioners: Dulquer Salmaan's King of Kotha and RDX.
Although the makers of Ramachandra Boss & Co haven't extensively promoted the film, they are confident that it will do well since they are releasing it during Onam. Actor Vinay Forrt also expressed confidence about the film doing well during the trailer launch event held on August 21, when he said that he prefers watching comedy films with his family during festivals.
"We are competing with big releases like RDX and King of Kotha that are backed by big production houses and have a star-studded cast. But what makes my film different is its genre: comedy. I think a family with small kids will be more inclined to watch a comedy film like Ramachandra Boss & Co in theatres. Family audiences are less likely to watch action movies with violence and gore during festivals," Vinay said at the trailer launch event.
'Ramachandra Boss & Co is not a regular comedy film'
When asked about the making of the movie at the same event, Vinay said, "Director Haneef Adeni has not treated this movie like a regular comedy film. Ramachandra Boss & Co is mounted on a big scale, and I can say that Haneef has shot this film in such a way that when you watch the movie, you feel that it is mounted on an even bigger scale. He is a promising director who can helm commercial entertainers well."
