A few months ago, it was announced that the third instalment of the popular sit-com, Ramany vs Ramany, is being made, leaving fans of the franchise elated. Filmmaker AR Murugadoss had recently announced that the third instalment, titled Ramany vs Ramany 3.0, will directly release on aha Tamil on March 4.

Director Vignesh Shivan has now unveiled its teaser and wished success to the team. He also said that this has been one of his favourite series in the 90s. He tweeted, "So happy to release the fun-teaser of #RamanyVsRamany3OnAHA.A 90-s Tamil sitcom I hold close to my heart. My best wishes!! (sic)."

The one-minute teaser has Ram G and Vasuki, who play lead roles as parents of a teenage girl and a school-going boy, having fun in every which ways. The couple, who are in their mid-40s, ensures that their romance is still alive, though their children and in-laws pose a hindrance.

Poovilangu Mohan, Vaidyanathan Padmanabhan, K Sathyamurthy, Sriram Krish and Sudha Pushpa among others will be seen playing pivotal characters in the series. The makers have announced that an episode each will be released on aha Tamil, starting from March 4.

The first instalment of Ramany vs Ramany was released in 1998, while the second part was released in 2001. The former had Prithivi Raj and Vasuki playing lead roles; the latter had Ram G and Devadarshini essaying the adorable couple.

The series, which was a huge hit among television viewers in the late 90s, was produced by veteran K Balachander's production banner Kavithalayaa Productions. Rehan has composed music for Raman vs Ramany 3.0 while N Sathish Kumar has cranked camera for the project. Naga has helmed the series which is nothing short of a nostalgia for millenials.
