Kajal Aggarwal, who was most recently seen in Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa, as goddess Parvathi, has been rumoured to be a part of the Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash led Ramayana, a development that she neither confirmed or denied – until now, that is. On July 3, 2025, hours after the title reveal, which had fleeting glimpses of Ranbir as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana, Kajal took to social media to finally end all the speculation regarding her presence in the two-part magnum opus.

“Honoured to be part of a story that has shaped generations. Welcome to the world of Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana, the immortal story of Rama vs Ravana. Grateful to walk this path, and to share it with all of you. Let’s celebrate this moment and together, step into the @worldoframayana. Our Truth. Our History,” Kajal posted on social media, along with the title reveal glimpse. She, however, refrained from revealing which character she plays in the epic saga.

Kajal to be paired with Yash?

Kajal is rumoured to be playing Mandodari, who was Ravana’s queen consort, a pious and righteous woman who repeatedly advised Ravana to return Sita to Ram. The daughter of Mayasura, the king of asuras, Mandodari’s love and loyalty for Ravana is mentioned in the Ramayana. If Kajal is, indeed, playing Mandodari, she will, for the first time ever, be paired with Rocking Star Yash.

The title glimpse, meanwhile, only mentioned Ranbir as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Yash as Ravan and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. According to reports, the film’s massive ensemble cast also includes Rakul Preet (Surpanakha), Lara Dutta (Kaikeyi), Kunal Kapoor (Lord Indra), Vivek Oberoi (Vidyutjiva), Sheeba Chadha (Manthara), among others. Producer Namit Malhotra is credited as writer, along with Sridhar Raghavan, while the music is the handiwork of Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.
