Ramesh Aravind is back with the fifth season of his popular celebrity talk show, Weekend With Ramesh. The first guest of the eagerly awaited new season opens with Ramya, who is undoubtedly among the most popular Kannada actresses.
The new season premieres this evening on Zee Kannada and will also be available to stream on OTTplay and ZEE5.
The popular show traces the life journeys of the celebrities, who are seated on a special, plush red chair. Not just that, the show has many surprises in store for the celebrity guest.
Close friends, family, and even teachers are invited on the show, and special clips are played that often leave the guests nostalgic and with tears in their eyes.
Similarly, several surprises awaited Ramya during the shoot of the episode. The actress, who is all set to make her comeback to films with Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye, in which she shares screen space with Raj B Shetty, revisited several of her older films and heard from many of her former co-stars and directors.
One such was Srinagara Kitty, who is a guest on the show. A thrilled Ramya shared her warm bond with Kitty, and the two even shared a dance. She also fondly remembered another former co-star, the late Puneeth Rajkumar.
Ramya had several chances to feel nostalgic and go back in time, as she met her school friends and a former teacher. She savoured her favourite childhood dishes and even played hopscotch and basketball on the set.
And that’s not it, as the show promises more surprises for Ramya and viewers on its season premiere episode tonight.
The second episode promises to be equally interesting, as actor-filmmaker-choreographer Prabhudeva will be seated on the famed red chair.
Apart from Ramya and Prabhudeva, the other guests on the new season include actors Rachita Ram, Dhruva Sarja, Malashree, cardiologist Dr Manjunath, and Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, among others.
The first season of Weekend With Ramesh aired in 2014, and the talk show has been popular with viewers since. Four seasons have aired so far, and the latest season comes after a gap of four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Weekend With Ramesh will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm on Zee Kannada, on the ZEE5 app and OTTplay.
