Ranbir Kapoor confirms Animal 3; Sequel shooting likely to begin in 2027

Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal created a lot of buzz when it was released in theatres on December 1, 2023. The film was a huge box office success and the makers announced the second part of the film titled Animal Park at the end of the first movie. In a recent interview, Ranbir revealed that the makers are currently working on the script for Animal 2 and shared details about the shooting schedule. The actor also confirmed that the film will be a trilogy.

Ranbir Kapoor on Animal 2 and Animal 3

While speaking to Deadline on the sidelines of the Red Sea Film Festival, Ranbir Kapoor said that the shooting for Animal 2 will begin in 2027. He further revealed that the film will also have its third part - Animal 3. “He (Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga) wants to make it over three parts," the actor said.

Ranbir further revealed that the team have been discussing about the second and third part of the film while shooting the first film. "We have been sharing ideas from the first film itself, and how we want to take this story forward. It is very exciting because now I get to play two characters – the antagonist and the protagonist. It is an extremely exciting project with an extremely original director. I am very excited to be a part of it."

Animal was released in theatres in December 2023. Along with Ranbir Kapoor, the film also featured Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, and Bobby Deol. The story of the film revolved around a toxic relationship of a father and son. Made on a budget of 100 crores, Animal became a blockbuster earning g more than 900 crore at the box office.
