Ranbir Kapoor on playing Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana: 'It's a dream for me'

Even before the film's official announcement, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi starrer Ramayana have been making headlines. Although the makers have not yet announced any details about the highly anticipated film, Ranbir has now shared some insights about the Nitesh Tiwari directorial and expressed that he feels lucky to have the opportunity to play Lorn Ram on the big screens. Ranbir Kapoor talks about Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana for the first time

Ranbir Kapoor recently attended the Red Sea Film Festival 2024 in Jeddah. At the event, the Animal actor opened up about Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana for the first time and praised the film’s producer, Namit Malhotra, for his passion and dedication to the project. He also mentioned that Malhotra has got the best of all the artists and all the creative people for the film.

Ranbir Kapoor shared insights on shooting details of Ramayana

The actor further shared details about the shooting of the film revealing that he has completed filming for the first part of the two-part franchise. The actor also mentioned that playing Lord Ram on the big screen is like a dream for him. He said, “It has two parts. I have finished the shooting of Part 1 and will shoot Part 2 soon. Just to be a part of that story, I am so humbled to essay Ram’s role. It’s a dream for me. It’s a film that has everything. It teaches what Indian culture is about — family dynamics and husband-wife dynamics.”

Meanwhile, Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana Part 1 is scheduled for a big screen release on Diwali 2026. A year later, the second part will be released on Diwali (2027). Besides Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, reports suggest that the film also stars Yash as Ravana, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.
