"Animal," starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, has generated a buzz that only a handful of movies manage, and the ongoing promotions are adding to the anticipation in an interesting way for cinephiles. The movie, one of the most awaited, is showing its impact on advance bookings, estimating that it might become the third-best pre-sales of 2023.
About Pre-Bookings
Pre-bookings for "Animal" opened on November 25, and fans have been lining up for tickets ever since. As of November 28, 11:00 am, according to Pinkvilla, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer has sold 1.51 lakh tickets in the top three cinema chains in India, including PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis. Of these, 1.21 lakh tickets have been booked in PVR, with the remainder in Cinepolis.
While these numbers don’t fully convey the impact of "Animal," the report also claims that it might sell over 4 lakh tickets before the movie hits the big screen on December 1, 2023. To provide perspective, any number over the 4 lakh mark places the movie right after "Pathaan" and "Jawan" in the pre-sales chart, making it the third-best pre-sales of the year.
"Pathaan" starring Shah Rukh Khan registered 5.57 lakh tickets in pre-booking, and "Jawan" is in the second position with 5.56 lakh pre-bookings. It will be interesting to see if Ranbir Kapoor’s Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial manages to achieve this feat.
Ranbir Kapoor On Choosing Animal
Recently, when asked why he chose "Animal," Ranbir Kapoor told Variety, “Well, to be honest, I was really drawn to the script of 'Animal.' It’s a unique and intense story that immediately caught my attention. As for watching 'Arjun Reddy' or 'Kabir Singh,' I must admit that I did watch both films and found them to be incredibly powerful and impactful. However, my decision to accept 'Animal' was not solely based on those films. It was more about the script, the character, and the opportunity to work with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. I believe 'Animal' will offer a different experience altogether, and I’m excited to explore this new dimension in my acting journey.”
"Animal" also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, Tripti Dimri, Bobby Deol, and an ensemble. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more.
