Among the many films featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana remains one of the most-awaited. The movie is back in the news with Nitesh completing the film with Ranbir's body double instead of the original actor. And just like the movie announcement, the film's second installment will also be shot right after calling it a wrap on this one. We have now got to know what the schedule of Ramayana Part 2 would look like. Here's a glimpse into it...
Ramayana Part 2 is expected to go on floors around May, but Ranbir will still join the movie by June. A source told Mid-Day, "The second installment is likely to roll in the summer, with Ranbir expected to join by June." Ranbir is unable to shoot for Ramayana 2 because he is currently busy with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War. Once he gets time off his schedule, he will shoot for Ramayana Part 2 in June.
Nitesh Tiwari is currently shooting for Ramayana without Ranbir. This is because major sequences that required Ranbir are already shot, and the actor could not commit to more time for the film. Thus, now, the rest of the movie is being shot with Ranbir's body double.
Ramayana Part 2 is scheduled for Diwali 2027 release, exactly a year after Part 1 is out. While the film runs on schedule for now, there's still a long wait for the release of both movies.
Apart from Ramayana, Ranbir is part of two more franchises. He will be seen in the Brahmastra trilogy helmed by Ayan Mukerji. The first part was released in theatres and got mixed reviews, most of which criticized the dialogue (or lack of it). The other and more recent franchise that Ranbir is a part of, is Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal Park. The universe was kept a surprise from all and was revealed only towards the end of the film.
