Ranga trailer: Sibiraj is seen in an action avatar in this thriller set against the backdrop of Kashmir

The shooting of Sibiraj-starrer Ranga was wrapped up long ago, but the makers have been waiting for an appropriate time to announce its release date. They had informed recently that the thriller flick will hit the screens on May 13. Vinod DL has directed the project which has Nikhila Vimal playing the female lead.

Ranga is one of the few movies in the country which has been shot extensively in Kashmir. The team shot a lot of crucial portions there, including some action sequences under the helm of Dhilip Subbarayan and Dinesh Subbarayan.

They have released the film's trailer now. The one-and-a-half minute video begins with the introduction of Sibiraj's character; he is an impatient guy who becomes aggressive when he doesn't have a stress ball in his hand. The plot begins when he and his girlfriend get stuck in Kashmir after which a group of criminals start attacking them.

How they escape from their clutches and return to their home forms the rest of the story. Sathish, Renuka and Mohnish Rahega among others essay crucial roles in the movie which has music composed by Ramjeevan. Ruben and Arvi have handled the film's editing and cinematography respectively.

Arun Shankar Durai has helmed art direction for Ranga while lyrics for the songs have been jointly penned by Thamarai, Vivek, Munna Shaokath Ali and Karthick Netha. Vijay K Celliah has bankrolled the movie under Boss Movies. The movie's teaser was released almost three years ago.

The makers had unveiled a lyric video a few months ago, but there weren't any updates on its release until recently. Kabadadaari (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) was Sibiraj's last outing. He currently has Maayon, Ranger and Vattam in his kitty.
