Rani Mukerji CONFIRMS Mardaani 3, hopes to crack a good script

After the runaway success of ‘Mardaani’ and ‘Mardaani 2’, actress Rani Mukerji is now all set to comeback with the third instalment of the successful franchise. Titled as ‘Mardaani 3’, Rani Mukerji will be seen playing the leading lady. Ever since the last few months, there have been many speculations about whether Rani Mukerji will be starring in the film’s third instalment or not. People all over were extremely eager to see Senior Inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy (her character’s name in the film) back in action!

Rani Mukerji confirms Mardaani 3

Putting all the speculations to rest, today, Rani Mukerji said in a media statement about her being a part of ‘Mardaani 3’. In the media statement Rani Mukerji said, “Mardaani 3 is in ideation stage. Once YRF has a great and concrete story idea, Mardaani 3 will get into scripting stage. I’m excited to see how ‘Mardaani 3’ shapes up as! I am crossing my fingers because I would love to play the part of Shivani.”.

Rani tasted blood with Mardaani 2

She added that, when she did ‘Mardaani 2’, she was nervous because she had never done a sequel prior to that and was left wondering about the proceedings. She added that, because of her habit of leaving behind her character after the film’s wrap up, she wasn’t sure if she would be able to reprise that part. She also added that, with ‘Mardaani 2’, she was surprised that she enjoyed reprising the part and that, now that she had tasted blood, she wanted to reprise it again in 3 (‘Mardani 3’).

Rani doesn't want to make a film because it sounds good

Speaking about the third instalment of the film, Rani said, “I will be very happy and excited if the ‘Mardaani 3’ script comes about really something that we would make a film. Because I as an actor always believe that we don’t want to do a film because it sounds good. We need to do a film when the script is good and when we want to make a film which is making a difference”.

She wrapped up stating, with ‘Mardaani 3’, they could not make a film if the story did not have that substance and that’s why they made it in such a way that people relate with today and that the girls find it empowering. She said that, she was hoping that they can crack a good script (with ‘Maradani 3’).
