Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar, has been undergoing several changes, inputs and outputs, shooting delays, and more. The film was earlier supposed to go on floors in January 2025, but it has been delayed due to Farhan's acting schedule. While Don 3 was locked with Ranveer Singh in the titular role, a recent report claimed that Ranveer has walked out of Farhan's project amid Dhurandhar's blockbuster success.

Pinkvilla reported that Ranveer Singh has decided to step away from Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s much-anticipated Don 3. The source claimed that amid Dhurandhar’s blockbuster success, Ranveer has a clear vision about the kind of films he wants to do next.
"He is keen to collaborate with filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Atlee, and at the same time, he doesn’t want to be seen in back-to-back gangster films, especially since Dhurandhar is already established in that space. That’s one of the reasons he has asked Jai Mehta to prepone the shoot of Pralay. Ranveer is keen on fast-tracking the project and bringing it on floors sooner than planned," the source shared.
Ranveer also has Pralay, a zombie-based film and the source mentioned that as he has walked out of Don 3, Ranveer is now busy fixing the dates and schedule of Jay Mehta's film so that the film faces no delays.
“Right after the release of Dhurandhar, Ranveer was scheduled to begin preparations for Don 3. However, given the current situation, the makers have already started scouting for a new actor to step into the role of Don, with the intention of taking the film on floors by the end of January 2026," the source further shared.
Meanwhile, News18 earlier reported that Vikrant Massey, who earlier quit Don 3, is now preparing to return as the main villain.
