If Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe continues to grow, Ranveer Singh will most certainly be the next A-lister to sign on. Stree (2018), Bhediya (2022), Munjya (2023), and the forthcoming Thama starring Ayushmann Khurrana are all spooky comedies from the same production firm. If all goes as planned, the actor will star in one of the films from the horror-comedy universe.

Planning in progress between Ranveer Singh and Maddock Films

Ranveer and producer Dinesh Vijan are well into the project's planning phases, an insider told Mid Day. They informed the tabloid, "Ranveer has been in conversations with Dinesh for a while. He was at the Maddock office last week. The makers wanted a fresh energy to drive the next chapter, and Ranveer is keen to explore the genre. The paperwork is likely to be completed soon."

Although details about the project are still scarce, an insider has revealed that Stree, Bhediya, and Thama are all being considered for a potential crossover with the forthcoming film. The insider added, "The idea is to create an Avengers-style culmination down the road. They are talking dates, as Ranveer will wrap up Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar soon. He has allotted some dates to Don 3 as well. This project is expected to roll in early 2026."

Timeline of Maddock’s horror-comedy films so far

Stree (2018), starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, was the first instalment in the Maddock horror comedy universe. The film's unexpected success set the stage for a shared universe, which is gradually coming to fruition. After Bhediya (starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon) was out in 2022, Munjya (starring Abhay Verma) came out in 2024. Releasing in 2025, Thama stars Ayushmann Khurrana and is the next film in the pipeline.

Ranveer Singh's first horror-comedy

If all goes as planned, this will mark Singh's first horror-comedy production and his first collaboration with Maddock Films. Production on the movie is scheduled to start in early 2026, after the actor completes his current commitments.
