A few months ago, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh had posed nude for the international magazine ‘Paper’. Even though it created a frenzy of sorts on the international level, back home in India, things were a bit different. No sooner than the nude photoshoot of Ranveer Singh reached the Indian shores, it created an uproar on almost all the levels. Amongst the many complaints against the actor, there was also an FIR which was filed by a certain Lalit Tekchandani, under the sections 292 (sale of obscene books), 293 (sale of obscene objects to young people), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) and also the provisions of the Information Technology Act.

Just as when everyone thought that the news about the controversial photoshoot of Ranveer Singh has slowed down, one of the photos from the said photoshoot has now resurfaced. This time round, it's for a good reason. One could find Ranveer Singh’s nude photograph from the controversial photoshoot on the cover of the well-known American singer cum songwriter Sufjan Stevens’ new album! While the album has been titled ‘Javelin’, the said track is ‘Goodbye Evergreen’.

Even though the album has one Ranveer Singh’s controversial photos, the fact also remains that, there is no explicit element that the photograph exudes. At the same time, Ranveer Singh also happens to be one of the many artists whose photographs have been chosen as the backdrop for the said video. As for the song video’s thumbnail, it is Ranveer Singh’s photo which has been used, wherein the song’s title ‘Goodbye Evergreen’ has been written in a pink splash font, that has been superimposed over Ranveer Singh’s photograph.
Internet gets divided
No sooner did the said photograph of Ranveer Singh on the cover of Sufjan Stevens’ album become viral, the internet got divided. While one section of the netizens wanted to know as to ‘Why is Ranveer Singh here’, at the same time, there was a user who wrote, “If you actually think about it, Ranveer would have been the perfect brown Hollywood darling. He has the talent, would blitz up red carpets and actually have other people as competition in the area of flamboyance. They wouldn't be making fun of his sartorial choices and would actually encourage him to experiment more. And they would DEFINITELY love his nude photoshoots lol. Quick, Ranveer, get an agent. Hollywood still doesn't have their token brown darling. They try with Dev Patel but there's a gap somewhere and Avan Jogia can't fix it”.
