Back in 2025, Akshay Kumar got into a financial dispute with his co-star Paresh Rawal over the latter’s exit from Hera Pheri 3. This year, something similar seems to unfold with Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3. Variety India reports that the makers – Farhan Akhtar and Riteish Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment – have demanded Rs. 40 crore compensation from Ranveer for the movie.

The report does confidently state that Excel Entertainment has let go of various HODs, asking them to look for outside work. This, they claim, comes out of financial loss worth Rs. 40 crore since Ranveer Singh’s departure from Don 3. They report that the actor has pushed back on the demand by claiming that he is not liable to pay any amount. A source who wishes to remain anonymous said, “Ranveer claims he left the project because he wasn’t happy with the script. He kept asking for changes to be made and didn’t like what the final draft read. Excel, on the other hand, claims that they went ahead with pre-production only after Singh gave his go ahead.” The report further speaks about the two having a long meeting over the matter but with no outcome. It is now reported that Producers Guild of India (PGI) has stepped in to mediate, find a common ground and not escalate the matter any further.

Ranveer Singh is currently awaiting the release of Dhurandhar: Part 2, which promises to explore his character of Jaskrit Singh Rangi, living as Hamza Ali Mazari in Pakistan.
