Rashtra Kavach OM, featuring Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjana Sanghi, was released in cinemas on July 1. It opened to unfavourable comments and struggled to captivate the spectators. The film earned approximately Rs 4 crore within three days of its release.

Rashtra Kavach OM was reportedly created on a budget of Rs 35 crores. While the movie generated Rs 1.51 crore on its first day, it collected Rs 4 crore in three days. As per Box Office India, its lack of big celebrities and well-known personalities might just have affected the actioner significantly and if it doesn’t pick pace, it might lead to fifth flop in a row for Aditya Roy Kapur. Kapil Verma has directed the action thriller, which is created by Zee Studios and Ahmed Khan.

Rashtra Kavach OM clashed with R. Madhavan's biopic Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. According to The Indian Express, the trade analyst Girish Johar said before the film’s release that it a hardcore action film and the trailer is ‘decent’. “Aditya Roy Kapur fans will get to watch him as a typical Hindi hero. The excitement level is decent only. I feel the film is a change of gear for Aditya Roy Kapur, until now he has done mostly romantic films, and this is a hardcore action film. This time he has tried to explore a different field,” he had said.

The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Ashutosh Rana, Prakash Raj, and Prachee Shah Paandya in addition to Aditya and Sanjana. A part of the OTTplay review reads: “Rashtra Kavach: OM has nothing new to offer. The emotional sequences attached to the backstory and the quintessential "maa ka pyaar" drag the film to become more of a snoozefest than a pack a punch, which was the initial motto.”

Meanwhile, Aditya will next appear in the Hindi remake of the 2019 Tamil hit Thadam, which will also star Mrunal Thakur. He will also be working on Malang 2, alongside Disha Patani, which will be helmed by Mohit Suri. Sanjana, on the other hand, is working on Dhak Dhak, which she is co-producing with Taapsee Pannu.
