Rafiq Ismail has directed the project which stars Kanna Ravi in lead role

The project Rathasaatchi has been hitting the headlines ever since it was announced by makers a couple of months ago. The movie, starring Kanna Ravi in the lead, has been helmed by Rafiq Ismail. The team, which unveiled its teaser a few days ago, has now released its trailer.
The two-minute promo video provides a sneak peek into the movie's plot; a group of youngsters lead an aggressive movement spearheaded by a determined and fierce man. How they fight against a cruel and powerful zamindar for oppressing various sections of under privileged people forms the film's plot.
The movie is based on the story Kaithigal written by popular novelist Jeyamohan. A few months ago, his story was made into Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu by Gautham Menon. Another story of his is currently being made into a film by director Vetri Maaran as Viduthalai.
Anitha Mahendran and S Disney have bankrolled Rathasaatchi which has action choreography by Don Ashok. Jagadeesh Ravi and Javed Riaz have handled cinematography and music direction respectively for the film which has editing by Prakash Karunanithi. R Ezhil's art direction is said to be one of the highlights of the movie.
Rathasaatchi is dropping on aha Tamil on December 9. Popular dance choreographer Kalyan plays one of the important roles in the film which has a bunch of newbies essaying crucial characters. Elango Kumaravel and Harish Kumar are others who will be seen in significant roles.
Silambarasan had unveiled its teaser a few days ago while Hip Hop Tamizha released its trailer yesterday. The movie is set against the backdrop of Tamil Nadu politics in the 80s. How the state CM handles the Naxalite groups which are spread over Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka as well is the parallel plot which the movie touches upon.
