Actor Vishal is stirring controversy as he promotes his upcoming movie Rathnam . With about 10 days left until the movie's release, the actor is intensifying anticipation by being confrontational in his responses to various questions.

Vishal's political aspirations are no secret, yet when a reporter asked him to confirm his political debut, instead of a simple yes or no, Vishal took a detour and took a swipe at Superstar Rajinikanth.

"Yes, I am going to enter politics. I won't beat around the bush saying I will come, or I will come if he (God) wants me to, or I might come. I will definitely enter politics," Vishal stated during a media interaction.

Although he didn't mention names, it was evident that his mocking comments were directed at Rajinikanth.

Rajinikanth's unfulfilled political dreams

For nearly three decades, Rajinikanth kept his fans and the Indian political ecosystem guessing about his plunge into electoral politics. While he became a force to reckon with in Tamil Nadu politics in the mid-90s, he repeatedly refrained from making the leap into politics for various reasons.

Rajinikanth often stated that his entry into politics would be decided by God, and when he felt the time was right, he would take the plunge. "Will he or won't he?" remained one of the long-debated questions in the Tamil film industry, deeply intertwined with politics.

The death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa created a power void in Tamil Nadu politics, offering an opportunity for aspiring leaders. Rajinikanth saw the timing as ripe for his political entry and announced his intention to launch his own political party. However, the outbreak of COVID-19 and his frail health condition compelled him to abandon his electoral aspirations indefinitely.
