Ravi Teja reveals the real reason for Eagle's new release date: 'Taking a step back for...'

It's confirmed! Eagle, starring Ravi Teja, has a new release date. The actor took to his social media handles to share the new update by announcing that the upcoming action thriller will be released on February 9. Interestingly, the movie was initially up for the Sankranthi box office race along with other eagerly anticipated releases, including Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram, Venkatesh’s Saindhav, Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga and Teja Sajja’s HanuMan. 

The actor announced the new date with the caption, “Taking a step back for the welfare of our Telugu Cinema. A little change in the arrival not in the shot & target #EAGLE from February 9th,2024 :)))) Wishing the very best to all the films releasing this Sankranthi” , (sic).

So, Eagle is officially not a part of the already-packed festive release. Could this move be because Ravi Teja’s last outing, Tiger Nageswara Rao, failed at the box office after clashing with Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari? Ravi Teja and the makers of Eagle seem to be playing it safe and choosing not to compete with the many highly anticipated films starring top actors that are slated to be released in theatres during Sankranthi. But will this change in release date guarantee the film’s success, considering that fans are already upset with the constant changes in the release date? Many social media users who were waiting for the film to release during Sankranthi are disappointed with the sudden change of plan. However, analysing Ravi Teja’s last film’s commercial success, it is safe to say that a solo release can translate to better box office figures for the actor.

Ravi Teja plays a professional killer in director Karthik Gattamneni's action thriller, which stars Kavya Thapar as the female lead. The trailer for Eagle describes Ravi Teja's character as: "He who uses weapons to cause destruction is a demon but he who uses weapons to stop destruction is a god." 

Eagle’s second single Gallanthe is a foot-tapping romance number with an exuberant Ravi Teja 

Anupama Parameswaran, Navdeep, Madhoo, Vinay Rai, Srinivas Avasarala, Srinivas Reddy, and Ajay Ghosh are also part of the film.
