Today marks the special day for sci-fi genre fans as the highly anticipated film, Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire witnessed a theatrical release on December 15. The big-budget film, directed by Zack Snyder and led by Sofia Boutella is getting mixed reactions on social media.
The movie is divided into two parts with Part I already being unveiled in theatres, it will also be available for streaming on Netflix on December 21.
The plot revolves around a mysterious and rebellious girl, Kora (played by Sofia Boutella), who crash lands on the moon Veldt. The remote location is inhabited by a group of farmers, who peacefully welcomes Kora into their farming community. However, their world comes crashing down when the oppression begins from the cruel goons called Nobles. The resistance fight led by Kora to help the farmers is what forms the rest of the story.
The ensemble cast also stars Charlie Hunnam, Michiel Huisman, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Cleopatra Coleman, Jena Malone, Fra Fee, Ed Skrein, and Anthony Hopkins in promising roles.
Netizens took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their first reactions to the film. While a few X users criticized the bad filming and gave the movie a score of 2/10, some defended the fiction film.
Interestingly, the critical reviews by several publications and film critics are stirring a wave of curiosity among the crowds, with many piqued now to watch the film. Some also took a stand for Zack Snyder as they disapproved of the harsh critics.

Many fans also raised their brows at the surprisingly low scores on rotten tomatoes as the ratings plunged to 10-13 percent within just hours of its release. However, social media was also abuzz with suspicion as many of the critical ratings and scores were deleted from the platform.
