Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai is one of the much-awaited Tamil movies this year. Though makers haven't released any promo videos from the film and are yet to announce a release date, it is likely to hit the screens later this year. The movie, which is based on B Jeyamohan's novel Thunaivan, stars Soori playing lead; this is the first project of the actor in a lead role.
Vijay Sethupathi, Gautham Menon and Prakash Raj among others will be seen essaying important characters in the movie which has music composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The film was recently in the news when filmmaker Rajiv Menon came on board to play a role in it.
Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies has now announced that they have bagged the theatrical rights of Viduthalai which has been bankrolled by Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment. The makers have also officially announced that the movie will be released in two parts.
Red Giant Movies will be distributing both the installments. According to a source, the shooting for the first part of Viduthalai has been completed and its post-production works are happening in full swing. The team is left with a few portions to be filmed to wrap up the shooting of its second part.
A few attractions of the movie are said to be its production design and intense emotions. A huge set of a train and a railway bridge worth 10 crores was erected sometime ago. The movie hit the headlines earlier when Jackie, its art director, erected a big village set in Sirumalai.
The team is now busy shooting a crucial sequence that features Vijay Sethupathi and Soori in Kodaikanal. Peter Hein, the movie's action choreographer, is helming the sequence that includes a stunt team from Bulgaria.
