Matthew Perry, who passed away at the age of 54 on Saturday, October 28, left us all reeling from the shock of his sudden and untimely demise. The celebrated actor, who is best known for his iconic character of Chandler Bing in the popular sitcom Friends entertained us by making us laugh, cry, and relate in the best possible way and his death has left a deep void in the hearts of fans all over the world and entertainment industry.

Perry’s decade-long career features impressive movies, here are five of his best movies that you must watch with a packet of tissues and popcorn!

Fools Rush In

Directed by Andy Tennant – This 1997 romantic-comedy film opposite Selma Hayek was Matthew Perry’s first film in a leading role. He channeled his witty humor from Friends success to this rom-com film. The plot revolves around two opposites – Alex Whitman, who is a WASP-ish NYC project manager, and Mexican-American Isabel, who is a free-spirited photographer. From a one-night stand’s unplanned pregnancy to falling in love amid cultural clashes and family drama, Fools Rush In is definitely a must-watch!

Three to Tango

Damon Santostefano's directorial film stars Matthew Perry, Neve Campbell, and Dylan McDermott in lead roles. This 1999 rom-com film narrates a tale of ruse and mistaken gay identity when Perry’s character Oscar is wrongly mistaken as gay and he pretends to be one just for the sake of his office project but ultimately falls in love at first sight with his boss’s mistress, Amy.

The Ron Clark Story

Matthew Perry stars as the titular Ron Clark – A dedicated and idealistic teacher who fights against the odds to win the battle of wills between him and the students. This TV film also earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination.

A Whole Nine Yards

This 2000’s caper comedy film portrays Perry in an adventurous role. He plays a mild-mannered suburban dentist, who is drowning debt and his unhappy married life. His world turned upside down when a former hitman-turned-informant arrived as his next-door neighbor with a huge bounty on his head.

17 Again

This 2009 fantasy-comedy film marks Matthew Perry’s last film role. He plays the older version of character Mike O’Donnel – A 37-year-old father and husband, who is battling his identity crisis and failed career. His life takes an exciting turn when he gets a second chance to make amends and find a 17-year-old version of himself, played by Zac Efron.

Matthew Perry reportedly drowned to his death in his LA home in a hot bathtub. Though the autopsy results are completed, they are deferred due to a pending toxicology report.

Meanwhile, the star’s fans have extended their condolences and love by pouring cards, flowers, and handwritten notes outside his Friends apartments in New York City.
