Framed for a crime she did not commit, Nell Jackson makes a new path for herself under a new identity of a highwaywoman in 18th century England. Her cunning and ruthlessness drive her to become the most notorious bandit in the land, striking fear into the hearts of the wealthy and powerful. But fate takes an unexpected turn with the arrival of Billy Blind, a mystical spirit, who reveals a destiny for Nell far more impressive than she ever dared to dream.
Last year in November, Disney+ dropped some exclusive sneak-peeks from Renegade Nell, where we got the introduction about the lead cast - Louisa Harland as Nell Jackson, Nick Mohammed as Billy Blind, Joely Richardson as Lady Eularia, Frank Dillane as Nell’s friend, and Alice Kremelberg as Sofia Wilmot.
Apart from the first looks and the release date, the streaming platform has not dropped any teaser or trailer about the historical drama yet. It is expected that the trailer will paint a more vibrant picture of what to expect. The British drama is written by BAFTA-winner Sally Wainwright. BAFTA is like the Oscars from the British entertainment industry.
Both Sally Wainwright's heartwarming drama - Last Tango in Halifax (2012-2020) and her gripping crime series - Happy Valley (2014-2023) landed her the most prestigious BAFTA Awards. Her writing prowess was recognized in 2013 for Last Tango, then again in 2015 and 2017 for the captivating Happy Valley for Best Drama Series category.
