Retro star Pooja Hegde wishes to work with Nani, picks THIS film of the HIT 3 star as her favorite

Pooja Hegde was going through a lull in her career, with not a single film in Tollywood. Things turned worse when she was ousted from Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram. But Tamil cinema did not lock its doors on Pooja, as she bagged a crazy project, Retro, with none other than Suriya. The action drama, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is all set to hit the screens on May 1, 2025, and there is solid buzz around the film.

Pooja Hegde manifests a film with Nani

A few snippets from Pooja's interviews during the film's promotions have gone viral. In one of her interviews, Pooja was asked which Telugu actor she would love to act with next, and the Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo actress did not shy away and said, "I like Nani's films and would love to team up with him one day."

Pooja Hegde has never done a film with Nani to date, and it would be lovely to see her romance the natural star. When asked further which film of the Jersey actor she liked the most, Pooja said, "I loved Nani in Ninnu Kori. His performance was so good in the romantic drama."

Ninnu Kori was directed by Shiva Nirvana and had Nivetha Thomas as the female lead. The film is about a man who goes to his ex-girlfriend’s house—who is already married—and tries to win her back. Nani’s moving performance, especially in the climax, is one of the film’s biggest highlights.

On the other hand, Pooja Hegde will be seen in a traditional role in Retro, and her dance moves in the songs have gone viral. In one of her latest interviews, Pooja also revealed that she has signed a new Telugu film, which she will announce soon.
