After a two-year struggle with illness, one of Bollywood's most cherished actors, Rishi Kapoor, passed away on at the age of 67 on 30th April, 2020. Millions of his fans who adored him for his charm, personality, and the different parts he performed in blockbuster movies like Bobby, Chandni, Karz, and Amar Akbar Anthony, to name a few, were left with a void by the passing of their favoutire superstar.

Today, September 4 is Rishi Kapoor's birthday so let's celebrate this day by looking at the journey of his superhit movies.

Bobby (1973)

This iconic film is still known as one of the greatest romantic films ever. The narrative of Bobby is excellent and illustrates how even the most straightforward of stories can be told in a thrilling way. Each sequence in the film was flawlessly executed by Rishi and Dimple Kapadia. The film also gave us the iconic song 'Hum tum ek kamre mai band ho'.

Amar Akbar Anthony (1977)

Rishi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna came together and delivered us a film that is still cherished and will be even in the future. When compared to the other characters, Kapoor's character, who was the youngest sibling of the group, was all about love. Meanwhile, the other two were the two angry men. Rishi’s Qawwalli 'Parda hai parda' was one of the highlight of the film.

Karz (1980)

The greatest rockstar performance in Subhash Ghai's musical Karz is one of Rishi Kapoor's best performances ever. He was the only person who could have pulled off the dance and the performance that was rewuired for this film. In this reincarnation-themed movie, Rishi takes the revenge from Simi Garewal in this film in the most unique way that made audience fall in love with the superstar.

Chandni (1989)

One of the best on-screen chemistry during the 90s was delivered by none other than the iconic on-screen couple Sridevi and Rishi Kapoor. The film Chandni was just another but impactful example. The film was a huge box office success and included a ton of timeless melodies that we still sing and enjoy. Also, for a 90s music lover and hopeless romantic like me, this film and its songs are a mood lifter.

Agneepath (2002)

The film, which Karan Malhotra directed, was released in 2012. The film starred Rishi Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt. The audience was greatly affected by the actor's portrayal of Rauf Lala and fell in love with him as a result.

Mulk (2018)

Rishi Kapoor played the Muslim father Murad Ali Mohammed in the Anubhav Sinha-directed movie Mulk, which also starred Taapsee Pannu and Neena Gupta in key parts. His depiction demonstrated his amazing capacity for character immersion, which struck a chord with the audience.

102 Not Out (2018)

2018's comedy-drama 102 Not Out was helmed by Umesh Shukla. Amitabh Bachchan played a 102-year-old father and Rishi Kapoor played a sour-tempered 75-year-old son in the film. Their friendship and persona in the movie were well-liked by the audience. After decades when the two superstars reunited for this film, it was a treat for the audience.
