Nelson Dilipkumar, who turned heads with Kolamaavu Kokila (streaming on Zee5) and Doctor (streaming on Netflix), started facing the wrath of Vijay fans and other movie buffs ever since his Beast failed to meet the giant expectations surrounding the film. The movie, which was released in theatres on April 13, opened to mixed reviews from critics and the audience.

Though a few aspects of the hostage thriller were appreciated, the director was criticized for the movie's lethargic screenplay and logical loopholes. Upon its release on Netflix in the last month, it was trending in first position in several countries in the first week.

But unfortunately, Nelson continued receiving criticisms and trolls on social media. Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is on a high with the recent success of Vikram, said in a media interaction a few days ago that he is upset with people targeting Nelson unnecessarily. Now, another celebrity has come in support of the director who earned a lot of fans with his first two projects.

RJ Balaji, who has been actively promoting his upcoming movie Veetla Vishesham, released an interesting promo video from his Twitter page. However, one of his fans posted a meme in the comment section and compared his promotional activities to that of Nelson's videos during the release of Beast.

An irked Balaji replied to him saying that Nelson is an extraordinary director and that he has been a huge fan of his films. Balaji, who had worked with Nelson in a few shows in the past, further posted, "He s one amazing talent with such an inspiring journey..! Am sure he’s gonna give us somuch happiness with his films in the future (sic)."

Nelson's next project is with Rajinikanth which has been tentatively titled Thalaivar 169. The movie which will be produced by Sun Pictures is likely to commence in a couple of months.
