Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani: See Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt get ‘engulfed’ in ‘Rocky’ Ranveer Singh’s hug

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is special for director Karan Johar for many reasons. The film marks Karan’s first feature length directorial in almost seven years. The filmmaker recently shared a photograph from the film’s sets where he is seen sharing a delightful moment with his lead stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.

In the photograph, which can be seen on the filmmaker’s Instagram account, the trio are seen in sunglasses, and Ranveer is seen putting his arms around Karan and Alia. In the caption of the post, Karan penned an amusing poem about the film, revolving around the film’s stars Ranveer, Alia, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.

Karan had also shared the photo on his Instagram stories with the caption ‘Engulfed in a ROCKY hug! Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani! Aapko jald hai sunani!’

The filmmaker’s last feature length directorial was 2016’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which starred Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles. Karan also directed segments of the anthology films, Lust Stories (2018) and Ghost Stories (2020). The latter two are available on Netflix, while Ae Dil Hai Mushkil can be streamed on Voot.

Talking about the film at the ABP Networks Ideas of India Summit, Karan had said he wanted to make a film that ‘made him feel 25 again’, and that’s how he came up with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. He got the idea during the pandemic. In a recent interview with ETimes, Ranveer had referred to the film as a ‘colourful and a feel-good family entertainer’ that has a certain ‘lightness’ to it. The film is produced under the banner of Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios.

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will be released in theatres on February 10, 2023.
