Ronth on OTT: Though it did not turn out to be a hit like Shahi Kabir-penned cop thriller, Officer on Duty, the latest Malayalam film had a fairly decent run in the theatres.

Filmmaker Shahi Kabir’s latest movie, Ronth, has started streaming on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium. The film, which stars actor-filmmaker Dileesh Pothan and actor Roshan Mathew in the lead roles, made its OTT premiere on July 22, 2025, a month after its theatrical release on June 13. As Ronth releases on OTT, here’s a look at how much the film made in theatres.
Ronth, a 2025 Malayalam film, opened to positive reviews from critics in June. Ronth collected Rs 8.91 crore during its time at the ticket window, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. To further break-up the figure, the India net collection is at Rs 6.58 crore, India gross collection at Rs 6.86 crore and the overseas collection at Rs 2.05 crore, according to the Sacnilk website.
Though it did not turn out to be a hit like Shahi Kabir-penned cop thriller, Officer on Duty, the film had a fairly decent run in the theatres. Now that the film is available on OTT, it is expected to reach a larger audience and win more appreciation.
The Malayalam film Ronth is available to stream in multiple languages, including Telugu and Hindi.

The film revolves around two cops as they go about their routine night patrolling duties. Dileesh Pothan appears as the senior cop, while actor Roshan Mathew plays the junior Dinnathan. The movie depicts the various issues that the cops have to deal with.
