Rudhiram: Raj B Shetty reveals key details of his character in survival-revenge thriller

Kannada star Raj B Shetty is set to headline a Malayalam film titled Rudhiram along with Aparna Balamurali. Rudhiram will release in theatres on December 13. The makers have already dropped an intense trailer and have fans speculating whether the Kannada star is playing a negative character in the film. Raj B Shetty recently revealed some key details about his character in the film, which is touted to be a survival-revenge thriller.

Ahead of Rudhiram’s big release later this week, the lead actors Raj B Shetty and Aparna Balamurali, along with director Jisho Lon Anthony and producer VS Lalan, sat down for a promotional interview. Revealing some key details of his character, Raj B Shetty said that he is playing a sophisticated, but generous and kind doctor in the film. He plays Dr Mathew in the film.

“I have not done such a character before. But there is a different story within him, a certain pain he has, his struggles and more. That will be revealed through his journey in the film. That is the beauty of the character," he revealed.

When specifically asked if he is playing a dark or negative character in the movie, the Kannada star said, “You cannot say it is a positive or negative character. He is an ordinary person. But he has an extraordinary intention. But we don’t know if it is good or bad. For that you will have to watch the movie. We may be able to justify or may not be able justify his actions. But he still becomes something else. That's his journey.”

But he further explained that no character in this film will stay in a black or white mode. "Everybody has shades of grey,” he added.

Raj B Shetty on speaking Malayalam

Speaking more about the character, the Kannada star said he is an outsider, who is settled in Kerala, and can speak the language.

The film, directed by Jisho Lon Anthony, has opted for the use of sync sound. “So what you hear in the trailer is what I have said,” Raj B Shetty said.

The director also chipped in saying that it was exactly what they wanted for the character.

Rudhiram, starring Raj B Shetty and Aparna Balamurali, will hit theatres on December 13.
