It’s not just Malayalam cinema’s writing and craft that has got Kannada actor-filmmaker Raj B Shetty, but also its fan culture, it seems. The Toby actor, who is set for the release of Rudhiram, his first Malayalam movie as a hero, expressed his interest in watching Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan's first day, first show.

Speaking at the press meet of his upcoming movie Rudhiram, which also has Aparna Balamurali in the lead, Raj B Shetty said that he is excited about watching the movies of Malayalam superstars and that too in theatres in Kerala.

Raj B Shetty on why he wants to watch Empuraan's FDFS in Kerala

The actor, who had previously starred in Malayalam movies Turbo and Kondal, said that he was excited about watching movies for superstars in theatres. “When it comes to movies of big stars, I want to catch their movies first day, first show. The experience I got when I watched Turbo in Ragam theatre in Thrissur was surreal. I woke up in the morning and headed to the theatre to catch the film,” he said.

Turbo marked Mammootty’s first ‘mass’ film in a while, and the actor’s fans ensured that all theatres were packed, and didn’t miss a moment in celebrating the megastar’s action-thriller. Raj B Shetty played the antagonist in the movie, which teased a sequel with Vijay Sethupathi set to arrive as the new villain.
