Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth’s popularity graph rose exponentially last year, when audiences literally fell in love with her role as Priya in Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A and Side B. It is no surprise, then, that Karnataka’s new crush has to deal with certain fall outs of this celebrity status – there are people pretending to be her, and one such has caught her attention. Rukmini took to social media to warn her followers of someone who was impersonating her. She shared the screenshot of a contact number, the user of which was calling his/her self Rukmini Vasanth, and urged her followers to block/report this person, should he/she attempt to call or message anyone from this number.
As outrageous as this was, that someone was impersonating Rukmini, her fans took this as an opportunity to have a spot of fun. In response to the actress’ message, they began replying with comments like, “For official confirmation, can you please share your number in DM”, “DM original number, then only I believe”, “Ma’am, please give your number. Next time, we will confirm which one is real”, “So, what’s your number actually, so that we can know the real Rukmini is calling”, “It would be helpful if you share your number so that I won’t respond to fake calls other than yours”.
Rukmini, who was last seen in Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B, which is yet to drop on OTT, has two major projects coming up in Kannada, namely Bhairathi Ranagal with Century Star Shivarajkumar and Bagheera with Sriimurali. The actress is also set to make her Tamil film debut with Vijay Sethupathi’s as-yet-untitled 51st project. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Rukmini had addressed her newfound popularity, saying that at the time (which was after the release of SSE Side A in September), she had not had the time to let it sink in, as she’d been busy promoting her film with Ganesh, Banadariyalli, SSE Side B, while also shooting for Bhairathi Ranagal and Vijay Sethupathi’s film.
