There’s nervous anxiety among Prabhas fans as the first instalment of Salaar hits screens this Friday sans any promotional extravaganza. As the teaser and the trailer were labelled underwhelming by a few, there was pressure on director Prashanth Neel and team to do the needful with a second trailer. After facing multiple delays, Salaar’s release trailer was launched today at 3.33 pm.

The second trailer reveals the story in a nutshell with a fable-like voice over. There was a Persian empire where the king - Sultan - relied on one man more than his powerful army to deliver the goods. While Prithviraj plays the Sultan - Varadaraj Mannar, his trusted aide is Salaar (Prabhas) - a mechanic who’s living a life in disguise but will come to his friend’s rescue at the hour of need.

Prabhas will bring anything his friend wants and destroy everything that he doesn’t. Meanwhile, we get a glimpse of his love life too - Shruti Haasan finally gets some screentime in the promotional material. Khansaar, meanwhile, is on high alert. Varadaraj says he has brought a ‘maniac’ (who can’t be calculated) to save the day for the kingdom.

Khansaar changed the fate of many people, but all of this was possible because of two best friends turning- arch rivals, the trailer ends on a high with this voice-over. The VFX, the action sequences look top notch and enticing enough for the masses and finally a glimpse of Salaar lives up to the monstrous expectations of film buffs across the globe.

Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Jagapathi Babu, Garuda Ram and Tinu Anand essay other important roles in Salaar (Part 1 Ceasefire). Noted Telugu production house Mythri Movie Makers has acquired the Nizam region rights for Salaar. Meanwhile, the film, even before the release, has crossed the $1 million mark in the US market.
