Naveen Kasturia starrer Salakaar's trailer has now released and while it is old wine packaged in a new bottle, this trailer merges new technology which makes it interesting. Mouni Roy's character is the one who uses this technology and thus, emerges as power itself. Salakaar trailer takes us through two timelines, one in 1987 and the other in 2025. The threat remains the same - nuclear power war. This time, though, India is developed and stronger. The agents sent to Pakistan are all powered with help from AI and amidst them all, Mouni Roy's character shines because of her AI glasses that show her what the plans look like. “My character isn’t just brave, she’s complicated, conflicted, and incredibly resilient. She operates in a high-risk zone, but she also carries her personal trauma and history into every decision,” the actress said in a media statement.
About Salakaar
The story is told from the lens of a spy named Adhir, who had thwarted Pakistan's nuclear plans back in 1978, only to be faced against it once again in 2025. The mission this time is to end the terror of ISI, but the journey would not be any easy. While Naveen Kasturia is the face of Indian officer and Mukesh Rishi is a Pakistani agent, Mouni Roy's character still remains a mystery.

Salakaar, Faruk Kabir confirms, is inspired from real-life events. “Salakaar is inspired by real-life events but gives us the creative space to explore the emotional and moral consequences of that world. It’s a story about loyalty not just to a nation, but to people, to memory, to ideals,” he shared. The series will be out on JioHotstar from August 8.
