It has become a tradition for fans to watch a Salman Khan film during Eid. This year, Salman’s treat to his fans was his film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. In the past, his other films that have released on Eid are Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Kick (2014), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Sultan (2016), Tubelight (2017), Race 3 (2018), Bharat (2019), and Radhe (2021).

Early box office reports for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan were less than impressive. It raked in ₹15 crore on its release day, but since Eid-al-Fitr, which fell in India on Saturday, ticket sales have picked up, with many single-screen theatres putting up a ‘houseful’ board.

The film, which also stars Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Shehnaaz Gill, Raghav Juyal and others, almost doubled its business from Day 1 on Sunday, with ticket sales to the tune of ₹26.61 crore, according to some trade analysts. 

While the film, which is a remake of the Tamil film Veeram, managed to better its business over the opening weekend. The true test for the film was on Monday — the first weekday post release. 

About the collections on Monday, film journalist Himesh Mankand tweeted that as per early trends, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan showed good collections on Monday.

One thing is for sure: Eid has certainly boosted the business of Salman’s film, helping it get the title of a blockbuster.

Fans of Salman Khan are now eagerly awaiting the release of his next film, Tiger 3. Part of the much-loved Tiger franchise, there are high hopes pinned on this Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif film, which will have a cameo by Shah Rukh Khan.
