Sam CS goes gaga over Ponniyin Selvan 2's music, AR Rahman thanks him and reveals OST release date

Ponniyin Selvan 2, which was released almost 10 days ago, is putting up a decent performance at the box office. The Mani Ratnam movie is inching closer to 300 crores from across the world. Vikram and Aishwarya Rai walk away with laurels while the likes of Karthi, Trisha and Jayam Ravi, too, came up with notable portrayals.

The film is poised to be the biggest hit of Tamil this year. However, surpassing the collection of Ponniyin Selvan 1 looks unlikely, going by the current trend.

One of the positive aspects of the movie is the music composed by AR Rahman. Many celebs went gaga over the legendary musician's track. The latest to join the list is composer Sam CS, whose hands are currently full, thanks to some of the hit movies he was part of in recent years.

He took to his Twitter page to say that the two-time Academy Award winner's music in Ponniyin Selvan 2 is extraordinary. He congratulated the team and said that he really enjoyed his music. He also requested the veteran to release its OST soon.

To his surprise, Rahman thanked him and said that the OST will be released on the 100th day of Ponniyin Selvan 2. The latter's fans are thrilled with this unexpected surprise. Some of them say that they can't wait for three more months while a few others requested him to unveil the OST of Ponniyin Selvan 1.

PS 2 is Rahman's second movie in Tamil this year after Silambarasan-starrer Pathu Thala which was released on March 30. The film is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. PS 2 also will be available on the platform after a few weeks.
