Samuthirakani is known for versatile acting and not shying away from doing any role. The actor can take on any role ranging from villain to hero. And now, he will be seen in the role of a station writer at a police station for his next. The makers revealed that the Tamil movie Writer got a U/A certificate today.
The movie is also the third production venture of Sarapatta Parambarai director Pa Ranjith. Ranjith is known for his excellent script selection, so the story would be a highlight for sure. The previous productions of Ranjith were critically acclaimed movies, Pariyerum Perumal and Randaam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu. Both movies were recipients of many awards and hence, the expectations are high for his third film too.
The movie is directed by debutant Franklin Jacob. Govind Vasantha of 96 fame is roped in for music while Pratheep Kaliraja handles the cinematography and editor Mani is in charge of the cuts. Other cast and plot details are awaited. The first look poster and title were revealed in April on Tamil New Year. The film is expected to release at the end of this year. However, an official announcement has not been made yet.
Meanwhile, Samuthirakani has a handful of movies like RRR, Bheemla Nayak, Sarkaru Vaari Paata and Indian 2 in which he will play prominent roles. The actor/director was last seen in A.L.Vijay’s Thalaivii starring Kangana Ranaut and Aravind Swami in lead roles chronicling the life of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha. The actor was seen playing R.M.Veerappan, a real-life politician and was praised for his performance.
