Sanam Teri Kasam Re-Release Box Office Day 8: The last eight days have been fascinating for Indian cinema, with the Hindi box office witnessing fresh releases like Loveyapa, Badass Ravi Kumar, and Chhaava, alongside two Hindi re-releases—Sanam Teri Kasam and Padmaavat—as well as Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. However, what’s even more surprising is how well the Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane starrer has performed. It has now officially attained hit status while maintaining momentum, despite Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava dominating theaters.
Sanam Teri Kasam Re-Release Box Office
A fan-driven movement led to the re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam, and it turned out to be a massive success. Originally earning ₹9 crore in its 2016 lifetime run, the film has now surpassed the ₹30 crore mark, cementing its hit status. On Day 8, the movie remained consistent despite the release of Chhaava.
According to Sacnilk, on Day 8, Sanam Teri Kasam earned ₹2.50 crore at the Indian box office, bringing its total collection to ₹28.50 crore. One reason for its steady numbers is its appeal as the only popular romantic film on Valentine's Day. It will be interesting to see if it maintains the ₹2 crore range over the weekend while Chhaava continues its strong run.
Is Sanam Teri Kasam 2 Happening?
While fans are flocking to theaters for Sanam Teri Kasam, anticipation for a sequel is high. In Ratlam, some moviegoers mistakenly thought Sanam Teri Kasam 2 had been released, only to find out it was the 2016 film. But is a sequel actually in the works?
Yes, it is! Back in September last year, actor Harshvardhan Rane and producer Deepak Mukut confirmed that a sequel was being developed. They shared a picture of Rane and Mukut posing with a script, captioning it:
"Sanam Teri Kasam 2 is officially happening! After the epic love story of the first film, we're back with more! Stay tuned for updates! #SanamTeriKasam2."
However, there is no confirmation on Mawra Hocane’s return. Since her character died in the first film and given the ongoing restrictions on Pakistani actors working in Indian films, her involvement remains uncertain. The makers are yet to reveal who will be the female lead.
