Sanchith Sanjeev, the strapping nephew of Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep, who inherited the title Kiccha Jr even before his debut film, has just completed the shooting of his launchpad Mango Pachcha. Over 70 days, Sanchith and debutant director Viveka and team spent in the heritage city of Mysuru for the film, an experience that has left an indelible mark on the young actor. Sanchith took to social media with a special video to mark the last day of the Mango Pachcha shoot, and talk about the impression Mysuru had on him.

Sanchith's heartfelt note to Mysuru, the city he now calls home

“On my last day, as I put on my makeup as Pachcha for the very final time, something in me slowed down. Every moment we lived in Mysuru… every street, every frame, every little memory came back to me all at once. This video isn’t just a goodbye—it’s what my heart wanted to say, quietly and honestly, to the city and to this character who changed me,” wrote Sanchith, in the post accompanying the video.

“I had only heard it was the land of Kings, never really seen it. I’d never walked among its people; never known the charm of the city,” he says, amid visuals of him in Mysuru. Sanchith adds that the chance to truly understand the place came with his first film, Mango Pachcha. Then, Mysuru stopped being just a city, it began to feel like home.

The team spent close to 70 days, shooting at various locations, which gave Sanchith a better understanding of the city, its people and the culture. “And somewhere along the way, Mysuru became our story,” said the young actor, extending a heartfelt note of gratitude to the people and the spirit of the city. “Mango Pachcha is not just a film, it’s a love letter to the city I now call home”, he said.

Mango Pachcha is about Sanchith’s character Prashanth, aka Pachcha, and his conflict with a local gangster in 90s Mysuru. The film has music by Charan Raj and the first single has already been warmly welcomed, as well as the earlier teasers, with fans unanimous in the opinion that the actor has inherited much of his uncle’s onscreen persona and swag. Of course, the final verdict about whether Sanchith has done justice to the Kiccha Jr moniker will be revealed when the film hits theatres on January 15, 2026
