Sankranthiki Vasthunnam on OTT: Deleted comedy scenes to be added to the Venkatesh starrer

Sankranthiki Vasthunnam was a smash hit at the box office, earning producer Dil Raju massive profits. The film’s success was further bolstered by its OTT rights sale; Zee5 secured the digital rights for an impressive Rs 30 crore, recovering half of the film’s budget even before its television premiere.

Fans can look forward to the film’s debut on TV and OTT starting March 1, 2025, a date that has already created a buzz among audiences. Adding to the excitement, Zee5 will feature deleted scenes in its digital release of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam. 

Director Anil Ravipudi initially removed several comedy sequences from the final cut to maintain a crisp runtime. However, these extra scenes—including entertaining moments featuring Himesh Limaye and other cast members—are set to be reinstated.

Sankranthiki Vasthunnam to stream on Zee 5

In addition, some flashback scenes featuring popular actors Venkatesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary, previously omitted, will also be included. These additional clips are expected to enhance the film’s appeal, as its comedic elements resonated strongly with audiences.

Venkatesh’s charismatic performance, especially in his role as a charming man caught between two leading ladies, has been a major highlight of the film and contributed to its smash-hit status.

Meanwhile, Dil Raju is already planning a Hindi remake of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam. There is speculation that Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who reportedly enjoyed the script, may play the lead role, though confirmation is still pending.

Furthermore, director Anil Ravipudi has secured a golden opportunity to direct a new comedy caper featuring none other than Chiranjeevi, with shooting scheduled to begin in June. For now, all eyes are on Zee5’s release of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam on March 1, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.
