Agent Kannayiram, starring Santhanam in the titular role, has been in the making for a while. The movie is the remake of Telugu hit film Agent Sai Srinivasa Atreya (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) which was released in 2019. Manoj Beedha of Vanjagar Ulagam is helming the remake which wrapped the other day.

The makers announced the same and unveiled a two-minute making video featuring Santhanam being part of many scenes. The actor is seen riding a horse, flipping a gun and pulling off some action sequences. He is also spotted along with Riya Suman who plays the female lead in the movie.

Naveen Polishetty and Shruti Sharma were seen essaying lead roles in the Telugu version. The film revolves around an aspiring detective hailing from a small town. He takes up an intriguing case and starts investigating it, but little did he know that he would come across some startling revelations about a dreaded gang.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director of Agent Kannayiram, and his background score is expected to be one of the highlights of the film. Theni Eswar and Saravanan Ramasamy have jointly bankrolled the film which has editing by Ajay. Stunner Sam and Rajesh have handled action choreography and art direction respectively.

The makers have also come up with an update on its release along with the making video. The film will hit the screens in November, they are yet to zero in on an appropriate date, though.

Santhanam was last seen in Rathna Kumar's Gulu Gulu (streaming on Sun NXT) which was released a few months ago. The actor's project Kick is likely to be his first outing in 2023.
