Sara Ali Khan to star in Sharan Sharma’s next, says reports

After having done films of varied genres, the spunky Sara Ali Khan is gearing it all up for the release of her next film ‘Gaslight’. Adding to the curiosity to the film’s plot was its extremely intriguing trailer, which was launched recently. Sara Ali Khan had even shared the film’s trailer on social media. The actress had captioned the post stating, “Shaq ka ghera hai badhta jaa raha…aakhir khooni hai kaun? Watch the trailer now!” Besides Sara Ali Khan, the film ‘Gaslight' also stars V ikrant Massey and Chitrangda Singh.

Even though Sara Ali Khan is all set for the release of ‘Gaslight’, there comes news reports about her next project for which she has given her nod. As per a report in Pinkvilla, Sara Ali Khan has signed director Sharan Sharma’s next film. The said report stated that, the very reason why Sharan Sharma chose to sign Sara Ali Khan was because he felt that Sara was ‘just perfect’ for the required role. For the uninitiated, Sharan Sharma is the same person who had earlier directed the powerful biopic ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’, the very film that starred Janhvi Kapoor (in the titular role), Pankaj Tripathi and Angad Bedi.

Speaking of Sara Ali Khan, the actress had recently spoken in an interview about her willingness to go as far as she could in pursuit of her goals and ambitions. She added that she wanted to go where no one else has been before; also adding that the only real competition she had was with herself.

As for her upcoming projects, Sara Ali Khan will be seen in ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’, whose first look was launched a couple of months back. The film, which is touted to be an inspiring tribute to the fearless heroes of India’s struggle for freedom, will be released on Prime Video. While the film is being produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra as the co-producer, the film is being directed by Kannan Iyer.

Besides ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’, Sara Ali Khan will also be seen in Dinesh Vijan’s ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’. While Sara Ali Khan plays the female lead, the male lead is played by Vicky Kaushal. Besides these two films, Sara Ali Khan will also be seen in Anurag Basu’s ‘Metro In Dino’. One may recall that Sara Ali Khan had taken to social media to write about the film. She mentioned, “Bringing together heartwarming stories of contemporary couples in #MetroInDino. In cinemas 8th December 2023”. Starring opposite Sara Ali Khan is Aditya Roy Kapur as the male lead. 

Besides Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur, the film ‘Metro In Dino’ also will see the presence of seasoned actors like Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sen Sharma and Ali Fazal amongst others. The film is being backed by Bhushan Kumar, owner of the music major T Series. The film is being readied for a theatrical release. The makers of the film had taken to social media and had announced that the film ‘Metro In Dino’ will be released on December 8 this year.
