Superstar Rajinikanth was one of the major attractions at the trailer launch of Ponniyin Selvan. He revealed that one of his dreams was to play the character of Vanthiyathevan from the epic novel of the same name. He also recollected his eagerness towards filmmakers making the novel into a movie.

Post the release of the film, he congratulated Karthi and Jayam Ravi over phone calls. The two stars took to Twitter to inform their fans and thanked the Superstar for his gesture. Sarath Kumar is the latest to have been smitten by the Jailer star's kind-heartedness.

He, too, received an appreciation call from Rajinikanth. An excited Sarath reciprocated the act by visiting the latter's home along with his daughter and actress Varalaxmi. Sarath took to Twitter to inform about the meeting and posted a video which featured stills from their get together.

Sarath added that Rajini was all praise for the manner in which the former played the role of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar in the Mani Ratnam film, and that they discussed many topics during their one-hour conversation. Sarath Kumar was in the headlines the other day when he spoke about the controversy regarding Raja Raja Cholan being showcased as a Hindu in the film.

Varalaxmi, too, was excited to the core after the meeting. She posted a few pictures along with Rajinikanth and said that this was the best Sunday ever. She thanked the Superstar for congratulating her father and discussing her projects.

She tweeted, "He oozes with so much love, positivity n calmness..just wanna hug him n never let him go. #Superstar forever (sic)."
